ATH Resources plc directly employs over 250 people across its surface mines and at its offices in Doncaster and Fife.

Many of the Company's employees have been recruited from outside the opencast industry, and trained in varying types of plant operations, maintenance work and ancillary skills. The Company encourages internal progression of employees, training and developing those who show an interest in and an aptitude for other skills and operations.

A City & Guilds accredited training centre is also a key part of the organisation’s employee development plan, and operates to qualify plant operators to NVQ Level II. Health & safety training is taken very seriously, with annual seminars held for all site employees, and all relevant health and safety training carried out regularly.
